Hi, first I’ll tell you a little bit about myself and why you should choose to have me be a part of your wedding. In 1974, I married my husband Rick in a small ceremony. We live with our cat on the island of Conanicut, known to most as Jamestown.
Some friends were having difficulty locating an officiant for their wedding and it occurred to me that it shouldn’t be that difficult. Weddings are such happy events, who wouldn’t want to participate? So, I was ordained by the Universal Life Church in 2008 and began making people happy.
Weddings and Civil Unions
NEWS !! Beginning on August 1,2013 RI will recognize Same-Sex Marriage. Many of my officiant friends are not comfortable performing these Ceremonies. I would be honored to offer my services to all couples wishing to marry.
Here on Jamestown, as all over Rhode Island, are many wonderful locations to have your Ceremony from formal restaurants to beaches and state parks – like Beavertail – to privately owned locations. Where you choose to hold your ceremony is the key to setting the mood for your special day. Even more important is the officiant. It should be someone you can identify with and trust to make your day perfect and memorable. For over 20 years I worked in customer service and the skills I developed serve me well in assisting you to plan the perfect day.
Our first meeting is complimentary and with no obligation. Let’s get to know each other before we begin planning for your personalized wedding. From the very beginning you will be able to reach me at any time by phone or by e-mail, it’s important to me that your questions be answered promptly. Your vows should be personal and yours alone. They should tell the story of who you are separately and why you pledge to spend the rest of your life together.
What a year 2012 was for Weddings!
The couples with whom I worked chose not only the expected venues such as Wedding Halls, State Parks, Country and Yacht Clubs but a Cemetery, the bow of a Yacht, a Vineyard, a dock, on a bridge and at the top of a mountain-outdoors in December in a snowstorm! A few were Skype’d to family members in other states and one to Belgium! As I said; it was a very an interesting year.
Each Wedding Ceremony was unique, tailored to the couple and their chosen site. The same can happen for you. I write my Ceremonies to include your hopes and dreams, your personalities and your religious beliefs. If there are unique Wedding traditions in your heritage I think it’s wonderful to include them. It’s your Wedding and my goal is to make it as close to your dream as humanly possible.
My fees are very reasonable and are based on your individual needs. Please call me at 401.423.3313 or send an email to RevJill@cox.net.
